Job Summary

A Sales Assistant in the handicraft industry supports daily sales operations by assisting customers, promoting handicraft products, maintaining product displays, processing sales transactions, and ensuring excellent customer service. The role requires good communication skills, product knowledge, and the ability to build positive relationships with customers and artisans.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and assist them in selecting handicraft products.

• Explain product features, materials, cultural significance, and pricing to customers.

• Maintain attractive product displays and ensure showroom cleanliness.

• Process sales transactions and issue bills/receipts accurately.

• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally.

• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the storekeeper or manager for stock replenishment.

• Assist in packaging products safely for customers and shipments.

• Support online sales activities, social media inquiries, and order management when required.

• Maintain records of sales, customer interactions, and daily transactions.

• Participate in exhibitions, trade fairs, and promotional events.

• Coordinate with artisans and suppliers regarding product availability and delivery schedules.

• Achieve sales targets and contribute to business growth.

Required Qualifications

• Intermediate (+2) or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.

• Previous experience in retail sales, handicrafts, or customer service is an advantage.
